Stroke of Fate is a short dramatic film starring award-winning Canadian actress Sheila McCarthy (Women Talking) as Shirley and Nathaniel Bacon as Jake. In a hospital waiting room, old family wounds come to the surface as a mother and son wait for news of their loved one's prognosis. The film was awarded Best Narrative Short at the 2021 Louisiana Rainbow LGBT+ Film Festival.
Written by Darren Stewart-Jones, directed by Aharon Jinjihashvili and produced by Lisa Crawford, the film was shot on location in Hamilton, Ontario in 2020.
