Darren Stewart-Jones

Darren Stewart-Jones was nominated for a 2025 Canadian Screen Award as Best Host, Web Program or Series for Ruby Tries Everything. Darren also plays Ruby on the ACTRA Award nominated Canadian comedy series, Pink Is In and appears as Miss Ogyny in the short film, Ramblings of a Middle Aged Drag Queen.

Darren is also an award winning theatre producer, director and a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada. As the Artistic Director of Baby Gumm Productions, Darren has produced and/or directed several plays at theatres across Ontario and at the United Solo Festival in New York City.

Darren's plays include Fade To Black, The Judy Monologues, Sherlock & Watson: Behind Closed Doors and Emerald City - A musical play. Darren is also the screenwriter of three short films - Digging Up Dorothy, Ramblings of a Middle-Aged Drag Queen and Stroke of Fate, which had its streaming premiere on CBC Gem. Darren co-produces the Canadian comedy series, Pink Is In, which is currently streaming on Bell Fibe TV1. The Christmas episode, A Pink & Green Christmas, is available on Tubi. 

Favourite past directing credits for the stage include A. R. Gurney's Love Letters starring Sheila McCarthy and David Ferry and Norm Foster's The Christmas Tree featuring Ramona Milano and Marc Bondy.

Darren was a three time nominee for the City of Hamilton Arts Awards for his work in the arts during his time in that city.

Darren is especially committed to encouraging other independent (LGBTQ+) artists to follow their own paths of creative expression.
